Joy Of Code - Web Design Training and Consulting

Online learning is a convenient, interactive, hands-on, and fun way to learn.

My experience shows that there are certain attributes which favor your chances of successfully learning online.

As you'll see, what's needed is not much different than if you were learning in a classroom.

These attributes are...

Motivation

No one's going to be there to remind you to read your Chapters, do your Labs, or work on your Project. Sometimes, if I don't hear from you in a while, I'll send a "Just Checking In" email to find out why you're not moving forward with the Workshop.

I'm not your Mother. You need to show up and do the work. Just as you would if you had to go to class every week. There's no difference.

Willingness To Follow Instructions

It's best to do as I say, especially in the early Lessons or if you're new to making web pages. Freelancing or going off the reservation and doing your own thing, is not your fastest path to becoming a Jedi Webmaster. There'll be plenty of time to do it your way, but first you must - as Yoda might say - "Learn and follow me." (He talks backwards.)

A Sense Of Curiosity

You don't have to say or ask anything in the email exchanges that we'll have in the Workshop. But that's not the best way to learn. Don't be shy. Talk to me. Ask questions. You'll learn so much more that way - and so will I!!
