Joy Of Code web design online training

Testimonials

Joy of Code was truly a joy. Bud's writing style is clear, simple, and humorous. He does not use jargon, which is a refreshing change from the books and other courses on coding. I've read many books on web design topics - from HTML to CSS - and I've taken the classes. This is the first one that made sense. I found myself saying, "Oh! I get it!" so many times I can't recall. Besides the feeling of accomplishment, Bud's humorous style makes the learning fun. If you have a choice of courses, take this one, you won't be disappointed.

I am so happy to have found Joy of Code! I could have taken this class at my college but I didn't want the pressure of grades. Now I can enjoy learning without pain! Bud is always there when I need him, guiding me along and keeping it simple and straightforward. If I make a mistake, he carefully explains what happened instead of just handing me a bad grade. I'm now on my way to doing something I've wanted to do for a long time, make my own websites!

I'm enjoying Joy of Code and definitely feel like I am learning a lot. I have never taken any kind of course online before, but it is set up very well so that you can practice what you are learning and the instructor always responds well to email.

Now that I started, I cannot tell you how much I want to learn this material. Your style of presentation makes it very non-threatening.

Let me compliment you, Bud, on an excellent course. The style and language make the material approachable; the amount of new info in each chapter is manageable -- enough to keep it interesting, yet not too much as to overwhelm; and the results are very visibile. The labs are so smartly designed: enough to keep you in practice and thinking without giving the answers away. This helps drive home the lessons and makes the results that much more rewarding when they're done.

As a newcomer to the world of XHTML, Bud was very supportive and patient as I worked my way through each chapter. He really took the time and effort to make sure my experience was not only informative but fun as well.

The best part about Bud’s methods is that he teaches to his students not to his lesson plan. He helped me gain confidence in my skills week by week.

I use what I learned everyday whether in my personal web projects or in my job in intranet development. If you want to not only learn code but understand it as well, Bud’s Workshop is for you.

Learning the proper use of XHTML and CSS code for creating and viewing my websites was a great learning experience with Bud. And the best part was that he worked with me one on one. Using the Work Space and email allowed me to work and learn at my own pace but with Bud's assistance all of the time. Whenever I had a question or problem he'd lead me to revise some code or design idea.

In the first hour of Introduction To XHTML And CSS you get an idea what this is all about. The Workshop starts with using simple tags to create a page and builds that page week by week. You can always go back and review something because he never takes anything down while you're taking the Workshop.

Once you get an idea about what you do with XHTML -- making lists, tables, links, forms, embedding images -- he introduces you to the art of style sheets -- CSS. If you don't like a particular font then change it in the style sheet and it changes on all web pages--what a time saver!

I'd recommend Bud's Workshop to anyone who needs to know how to create a website for what ever their need might be -- starting an online business, sharing photos and stories with friends and family, selling more effectively on eBay, even just learning how their favorite sites are made or are just curious. As Bud says what you do with the information and skills you'll learn is up to you!

I was so impressed with Bud Kraus that I invited him to speak to one of my graduate classes in Instructional Technology. Bud is extremely clear and complete in his presentation of material. The online format enabled me to take courses at my convenience that I would otherwise have missed. Bud’s wonderfully clear teaching style combined with the online format made both courses well worth my while.
